Home Run!

Tonight I cooked the etiquette dinner for the youth at church. Daddy dropped off Superstar so he could go play softball at the base. When we were leaving the church, Superstar said, "I miss my Daddy." So we went and surprised Daddy at his game. He was so happy to see us! When Superstar saw Daddy playing softball, he wanted a turn. So when the game was over, Superstar hit the ball and ran the bases with Daddy. He's going to have so much fun next year in T-ball!

Swing!

So Cute! Great-Grandpa came over with Grandpa, so Daddy could get some help with the bathroom tile. Superstar wanted to swing, so here they are! Great-Grandpa also got to see the turtle that came from Kansas when some other family were there visiting him.

B & B Part Deux

So, we came back yesterday even though the bathroom wasn't done. Superstar had a birthday party to go to at a place with a bunch of jumpers, and I didn't want him to miss it. We had so much fun there! Some of my Young Women were there and wanted me to go on all the stuff. I was afraid to go, since I wore a skirt and I didn't want to flash anyone, but it looked like so much fun! Finally I went on the big slide. It was awesome, so Superstar and I went down a bunch of times. The last time we went down I slipped and went sideways and kind of flipped and landed with my skirt flying over my head and my underwear totally showing. It was great.

Today I was so lazy. I read a book while Superstar played. Later on in the afternoon we went in the pool and I washed my hair since we still don't have a shower. Daddy came home from work and joined us. We had a splash contest. The water felt so good!

Bathtubs & Birthdays

So, our bathtub had this hole in it leaking down onto the wooden foundation of our house, which is bad. So anyway, on Saturday Daddy and some nice men from church started replacing it, and the toilet while they were in there tearing things up. Superstar and I headed down to Carlsbad for my niece's 1st birthday party. By Saturday night the bathtub wasn't done, so we decided to stay at my sister's house. Superstar and his little cousin were having so much fun. Aren't they cute?

Splish Splash!

So it's like officially summer now, and we are feeling the heat. We're such wimps, I think it's only gotten to barely 80 degrees and Daddy's already talking about turning on the air conditioner. So I try to keep the house cool so he won't waste electricity money till we hit at least 85 degrees. Anyway, Superstar looked over the fence and saw the neighbor's pool and the people in it and yelled really loud, "Mama, I found the pool!" Then he told me, "And there's friends!" I told him to shush, while I was laughing, of course! So then he dragged out the slip-and slide from the corner of the yard and had fun on that. Then yesterday we went to Wal-mart for more fabric, (I'm quilt crazy,) and there was this pool for less than $10! What a deal! So you know we brought it home and Superstar swam all afternoon. So fun!

I love you!

I love this picture! When my sister was down visiting from Utah, we went to Newport Beach and she took this picture of Daddy and I. I love you Daddy, you are the love of my life!

Raccoon!

So check out our raccoon. We've had up to five at a time come eat the tasty cat food. (see picture below) They're so cute to watch, from a distance, and they're not so afraid of us. He/she made a mess, but it's so fun to watch them that I don't mind. I was just disappointed that Superstar was sleeping when the raccoon was here. Not that I ever mind when he's sleeping... :)

Father's Day at the Fire Station

So on Father's Day we all piled in the vans and went to visit poor Grandpa who had to work on Father's Day. It's not the first time this has happened, so it's kind of a tradition. He was so happy to see us, and I got great photo ops with the fire engines and great-grandpa who's visiting from Kansas for as long as we can convince him to stay, (hopefully forever!) So here's the 4 generation picture that I really wanted. Great-Grandpa, Grandpa, Daddy & Superstar. Cute, huh?

QuinceaƱera Quilt

So Saturday night we went to our very first Quinceanera, translation 15th birthday celebration for one of my Young Women. It was quite an affair. The birthday girl's favorite color is green, so we all wore green, and I made her this green quilt. I think it turned out pretty cute!

At the Car Wash

So on Friday I finally got the car washed. It had been embarrassingly (is that a word?) dirty for a while but I really wanted to take it to the car wash when Superstar was with me cause that's half the fun of having kids, experiencing things with them. You can see he was thrilled. He covered his face and tried to hide under the dashboard, which was really funny. I thought my picture of the water on the windshield turned out pretty cool though.

Trampoline

So we watched our friend's kids, the Harpers, the other night while they went to the Dodgers game. They are my new heroes. It was amazing. They have 5 children, with their oldest being 7 years old. Crazy, right! I had no idea what I was getting myself into. I couldn't have remained sane without Daddy coming to help me. Here he is jumping on the trampoline with Superstar and the other kids.

Peaches!

So, here's our pretty peaches! It's so gratifying to pick fruit out of my own backyard. It makes me feel closer to God and the whole miracle of life continuing on!
We have the perfect amount of fruit, not too much to make me overwhelmed or feel guilty about not canning, (not so good at that,) but just enough to appreciate and enjoy.
Here's wishing sun-kissed fruit for all of you this summer!

Mama & Superstar

So, I'm posting our Mother's Day picture per request of motormouthmom, (love that name, MOM!) Since I'm so happy to be Superstar's mom, I like to take pictures of us together all the time. Here are some of my favorites!

Angels Game

So we went to the Angels game with Daddy's family on Thursday. They played the Baltimore Orioles, in case anyone cares. We didn't! Daddy's parents bought tickets for Daddy and 3 of his brothers and their families. There was 14 of us. We went on duffle bag night, so we came home with a lot of duffle bags! Now we all have matching luggage for our next family vacation! Just Kidding! Also, Mama's sister and her family came, coincidentally, so we've got Angel's bags everywhere! Ebay, anyone?

Intro to our crazy family

So I guess this blog thing is really good for me because I love the computer and I really stink at keeping a journal which I know is uberimportant, but I never do it.

Anyway, this is our cute family. Names have been changed to protect the innocent. That's us. From here on out we'll be Mama, Daddy, and Superstar. He's the cute blond one!
