Mattress Pad & Pounds Lost

Okay, it's so funny how the smallest things can make a difference. On Monday, when we were heading back from the doctor we stopped at Bed Bath & Beyond to get a new mattress pad for our bed. We've had the same one since we got married 8 years ago and I don't know how long they're supposed to last, but ours was all lumpy and stretched out and didn't stay put. Now if you read the post a few days ago you know David calls me the princess and the pea because I can't stand to have the bed not completely smooth. Any tiny little crumb or anything I can feel and it has to go if I'm going to sleep. So we put the new mattress pad on and oh my gosh it's incredible. I didn't even buy the expensive one, I got the cheapest one they had, and it's awesome! Everything feels so soft and smooth and I just like to run the side of my foot over it when I'm in bed. So you know it doesn't take much to make me happy! Oh and by the way, I forgot to mention it in my doctor appt. post but when they weighed me on Monday, I had lost 2 pounds. That was so weird. I'm not one of those people who loses weight when they're pregnant, so this was very strange to me. The doctor checked out all my measurements and did an ultrasound and everything was fine, so whatever, it was just weird to me.

Yay for being comfy again!

Maybe you burned lots of calories in your nesting?

It's not uncommon to lose a little weight at the very end of your pregnancy. I don't remember why, but hey--you're normal!

I agree - totally unexpected how great a new mattress pad is, but very cool! Especially a down mattress pad - just so luxurious!
