Valentine's Tutu Wreath

Happy Love Day everyone!!

I've been seeing cute Valentine's wreaths all over the place in blogland, but they all looked too labor-intensive to me.
I am pretty lazy after all. On Friday I had a vision of love.
Haha, I mean a Valentine's vision of this wreath!

I rushed down to the fabric store to get a wreath form before my fab Valentine's party on Saturday, (see below post.)

Here's what I did.

 I cut a few different lengths of tulle to figure out how long they needed to be to tie around my wreath. It turned out to be 12-15 inches was a good length.

 I then cut piles of tulle in that length of the 3 colors I wanted to use in my wreath.

 Wrap each piece around the wreath and tie a square knot.

As you tie each knot, scoot it close to the one before. The pieces of tulle should be squished together tightly to cover the wreath and make it POOF!

 When the wreath is totally covered all the way around, cut a length of ribbon, however long you like to be your hangar. Wrap it around your wreath and sew the ends together.

 Trim the tulle so it's all a uniform length. I used pinking shears because I love them and use them every chance I get!

 Secure the ribbon hangar to the wreath. I used a straight pin, but you could glue it also.

 And VOILA!

This satisfied my need for a Valentine's wreath and seriously took me under an hour. Perfect for my lazy self! I can't wait to make it in different colors for other holidays!!



Valentine's Pajama Party

I had some of my girls over last night for a little party. I was so excited to host this activity, because I love getting Valentines, little testaments that people love me! Silly I know. It's one of the few things I felt like I missed out on being homeschooled.

I made some yummy food!

 Peppermint Brownies

 Heart-shaped, red-sprinkled rice krispy treats bouquet

 We exchanged valentines.

I made everyone a pair of XO potholders.

Kyla gave us a big yummy kiss.

And these adorable button earrings!

Melanie made us one of her signature blocks.

 I was so excited because I was hoping she would!

Jamie gave us yummy candles in these cute votives!

And my favorite candy bar!

Marianne made these sweet Valentine table runners.

Ronda made us lovey bookmarks with fun quotes.

Brenda gave us a SWEET assortment of chocolate!

I had this jar of conversation hearts for a guessing game.

How many do you think are in there?

Marianne won M&M's for cutest jammies.

And we played this HILARIOUS game.

Seriously, play it.

But not with the kids.

Sappy Saturday - 11 Years Baby!!

In the wee small hours of the morning,

While my husband's snoring next to me,

I lie awake and count 11 reasons

I'm thankful to say Happy Anniversary!

1. He'll clean anything I ask him to, without complaining.

2. He changes all the diapers when he's home.

3. He works hard to be a conscientious, responsible employee

to provide for our family.

4. He supports me in whatever new things I want to try.

5. He never question how I spend the money,

trusting I'll make good choices.

6. He'll give me a back rub whenever I want.

7. He tells me I'm beautiful every day.

8. He's imperfect, which makes him perfect for imperfect me.

9. He's in it for the long haul.

10. He doesn't need to be praised for his good works,

(I so need to learn that.)

11. He ADORES Jeremy and Kelsey.

I love you David, I'm in it for the long haul too!!

In sickness and health, for richer or poorer,

in good times and bad.

To the moon and back, forever and ever, amen.
