Last Day of March

Today I did a lot of blogging, then Jeremy and I did school. For the helping part of his school, Jeremy cleaned the living room and did a great job vacuuming with our complicated vacuum. That's my Superstar! And yes we always do our chores in our underwear. Why get dressed to clean the house, right? :) Daddy came home from work early to get ready for his trip. He made me this cute I love you sign on wood with the sun and his magnifying glass, so sweet! He says this one is for practice and he'll make me a better one someday. We had Jon over for enchiladas and rice, then Daddy and Jeremy and I went to Golden Spoon for free frozen yogurt! A very nice lady at church gave us coupons yesterday. Guess what flavor Jeremy chose! It was fun and we got to see one of my favorite girls from church who works there.

Berry Poll Results

So strawberries won by a landslide! I didn't vote on this one because I just love berries! I couldn't pick! My dream come true would be a huge berry garden that I could just sit in and eat and eat and then pick enough to make yummy stuff like cobbler and smoothies and all sorts of delectable treats! YUM YUM!!!

Jeremy's Trumpet Debut

So last night Daddy got out his trumpet and Jeremy wanted to play it. I was lying in bed and all of a sudden I hear the trumpet really loud. It didn't sound good like when Daddy played it, but it was solid. I asked Daddy if that was Jeremy and he said yes. Daddy says that Jeremy did really well for his first time. He didn't puff out his cheeks and he got the technique right away. You have to kind of spit in the trumpet, not just blow. It's hard for me! So here he is. It's kind of funny. It would be fun for Jeremy to grow up and be musical like David and I.

Love Note

My husband left me a sweet note in the shower...I had to share.

Cherish!

Last night we stayed home and invited our friend Jon for dinner. Well I got the best surprise ever! My sister Cherish from Utah called and said she was in town for 1 day and asked to come over. I was so excited to see her! I miss my sister friends in Utah. So she came and talked to my belly and the baby actually kicked a lot for her, which is rare. She won't kick much for Daddy. Everytime he puts his hands on my belly, she stops moving. I tell him he has a calming effect on her and he's welcome to take care of her when she's screaming. Anyway, it was so much fun to see her and I'm so happy she took the time to come see me!

Home School

So last week we finally started our home school. I had been wanting to but I just felt so overwhelmed by the sickness of my pregnant body that I had decided to just put it off until after the baby came and start in the fall when he would be Kindergarten age. Thanks to my friend and supporter Jon who kept asking me when we were going to start, I finally conquered my fear and organized my thoughts and materials and started! Jeremy loves it! I thought maybe I'd have to talk him into doing it and try to keep his attention, but he's glued and excited for everything we do. We start out with our Motto, which is Kindness Begins With Me. Then we sing the Primary song that goes along with it and have a prayer. Then he's got 6 things to do in any order he chooses. I have the schedule for him to look at and I tried to put it in language that would excite him and I used pictures to show him what each word meant. He has Letters, Numbers, Outside, Reading, Helping, and Drawing. He loves every one of his subjects! It's great to see what we need to do again the next day and what things he gets right away. For Numbers we played Go Fish with his Diego cards and he learned so much. Grouping things, give and take, addition, counting groups; it was really cool to see him develop lots of different skills in one exercise. Last week the LDS homeschool group for Orange County was having spring break, but I'm excited to go with them this week. They meet every Wednesday for twice a month field trips and park days. Anyway, fun, fun!

Last Week

Well, I succeeded last week in keeping busy while David was gone on travel. We had Jeremy's cousins over for dinner and baseball in the backyard, we went to the park, and my mom came to visit us. It really helped to curb my loneliness to have people around and things to do. Let's hope I do that well this week. David's off again, this time to San Diego. Of course being busy centers around how I'm feeling, so I did all right most of the week, then I kind of crashed a couple of days at the end. David had gotten tickets from his mom for Christmas to go see Phantom of the Opera at the Orange County Performing Arts Center, but when it came down to Saturday night, she had to take him because I was too sick to go. That was kind of a bummer. I saw it 16 or 17 years ago when it was in L.A. and it was so good. David and I both love the music. So I was happy for him that he finally got to go.

Poll Results

So the majority was barely made by the 2%ers. I do love 2% but I've weaned us down to the 1% for health reasons. I can't imagine going to the nonfat, but hey I've made it down before, who knows what I can do! Milk, it does a body good.

Name My New Red Dress

For my birthday I was blessed with several new stretchy dresses that I can wear during and after I'm pregnant. Well it turns out my favorite is the one from my sister and her family. My sister told me when she bought it that it was so comfortable she had to get one for herself. I admit, I doubted her. Everyone's always giving me their opinion on what I should do to feel better and what worked for them and nothing ever feels good for me. Well this dress is so amazing. So for those of you who see me on a regular basis, you'll probably see me in my new red dress almost every day! Now here's where you come in - I need a name for my dress. On my mission I wore this yellow dress for a week or 2 straight and my companion called it Miss Chiquita. So of course, a dress of this significance needs a name, and since all the blood has left my brain and is rushing to my belly, tell me what you think I should call this red wonder of a dress. Thanks!

Busy Fun

So it has been really warm and nice outside again and we've been enjoying it. On Friday we went to the park with the mom group. On Saturday Daddy helped Jon with some lights while I played piano for a baptism and then we all went to the dog beach with Baldo to fly Jon's new dragon kite. Jeremy loves to fly kites and the outside felt so nice, so it was fun. The kite crashed into the rocks and David had to go get it and Jeremy told me that Daddy had saved the dragon from the rocks. His Hero! Since we already did the Easter Egg Hunt combo birthday party we didn't really do anything for Easter this weekend, no dinner or anything. On Sunday morning, a couple of hours before church I remembered I was supposed to make the cake for the Young Women's March birthday celebration. Luckily I had a cake mix and the ingredients to whip up some frosting. Jeremy helped me and when it came out of the oven, he told me we made a beautiful cake! He also helped eat it this morning when I was still in bed. He is really independent. After all, why ask Mom, when you can just help yourself! When I saw his frosted face, I got out of bed and made him real breakfast. Today Daddy left for a trip to Lemoore for the week. Next week he travels too so I'm trying to have something to do everyday so I don't go crazy without him here. I love my Jeremy, but I need someone else to talk to everyday. We went to our friend's baseball game tonight for a while and then Jeremy got sad because he was tired of watching and wanted to play. So we went to his cousin's house and he got his fill of balls and scooters and fun. He fell asleep faster than I could get this blog typed! Awesome!

Poll Results

So the majority of you read in the bathroom but shockingly there's 4 of you who don't! I just think if you're in there long enough to read, you don't want to be thinking about what you're doing! Gross! So for you non-bathroom-readers, I encourage you to branch out and experience the bathroom read. What have you got to lose?

Temple Trip

Last night we took the Young Women to the Newport Beach temple. It was so great. For 2 of them it was their first time and it was so much fun to be with them! I felt yucky but I had committed to driving them there since it's not very far. We went to Carl's Jr. after and had dinner and I felt better. Probably my tummy was yelling for food! Aren't our Young Women adorable? I just love them!

Weird Dreams

So I have a lot of weird dreams. And in my dreams, they often reference other occurences that happened. But when I wake up it's like that stuff never happened before, so it seems like maybe I dreamed it before. Like last night I dreamed I looked out my back door and there was this man playing back there with his dog and I thought why does this keep happening? And I remembered in my dream that we'd been having this recurring problem of strange men just coming in our backyard and playing with their big dogs. And while this man was in the backyard I was on the phone with some lady who called and complained about my listing on Ebay and I told her that it wasn't mine and someone was fraudulently using my name because I kept getting phone calls like that. Weird, huh? And it's not like those are the weirdest dreams I have because they get way wackier, but I just can't figure out this referencing to past events that never happened. What do you think?

Chinese Food

On Friday we went to a place for Chinese food. I was very excited because I have been craving Chinese food my whole pregnancy and my in-laws were paying. So they serve the first course and it's soup and it's really good! So then the entrees come, family-style and not only did they smell bad to me, what I managed to try tasted bad too. Everyone else was loving the food and I just sat there feeling sick and hungry. It was not fun. The one redeeming part was they played me Happy Birthday on the sound system John Sousa style. That was weird, but cool. Oh well, one more Chinese restaurant down, 1 million to go!

Poll Results

So Hank won, which is funny because it was a last minute addition by David. However, Jehosaphat tied for 2nd, which is great because David can't stand that name and I like to torture him with it! Sadly, my favorite Pablo Pierre only got one vote. Sure hope this baby is a girl! Be sure to vote in the next poll!

I've been tagged!

I've been "Tagged" by my friend Jamie!!

A. The rules of the game are posted at the beginning.

B. Each player answers the question about themselves.

C. At the end of the post, the player then tags five people and posts their names, then goes to their blog and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog.

1. What was I doing ten years ago? I was working at the Staples Regional Office in Fountain Valley and preparing to go on a mission along with David.

2. Five things on my to-do list today: Dishes, make grocery list, Costco, nap, water lawn.

3. What snacks do I enjoy? Chips, really great fruit, and pie!

4. What would I do if I were suddenly a billionaire? Buy our dream home and cars and hire a housekeeper and a masseuse.

5. Three bad habits: Feeling sorry for myself, not reading my scriptures and not flossing.

6. Five Places where I lived: Hemet, Romoland, Garden Grove, Westminster, and Oklahoma.

7. Five jobs I have had: Customer Service, nanny, Clerk/Cashier, Admin. Assistant, and Mama.

8. Five things people don't know about me: I'd love to be able to perform on Broadway, I don't get Jeremy dressed everyday, I'm really afraid in social situations, I'm a second-hand snob, and I don't ever want to be married to anyone else if David dies.

Tagging: Cherish, Ronda, Vanessa, and anyone else who wants to play!

Hot Juice

Just a quick funny note about Jeremy. We're not really soda drinkers, every once in a while, but I don't buy it unless there's a party or something. So Jeremy hasn't really grown up around soda and he's never developed a taste for it. Everytime someone would give him a drink of it, he would just spit it out. But ever since I've been pregnant, David knows to keep the pantry stocked with ginger ale to settle my stomach. So Jeremy finally decided to give it a try out of my glass and he kind of winces but he likes it. He calls it my hot juice, and he tells me it's too hot for his mouth. It's funny, because the carbonation has always been a turnoff for me too, which is why I don't like soda too often.

Good Day

So today I wanted to kind of take it mellow, I know not much different than my other days. The youth are going to the Orange County Food Bank to do service and I really wanted to go. I've never been there. Then I talked to my MIL and she was telling me she has the scouts coming over tonight and she needed to make cookies but she didn't know when she'd find the time. So I thought, I can do that for her! I feel so useless and incapable of service most of the time. So Jeremy and I made chocolate chip cookies and he licked the beaters for the first time. I think it's so cute and a really fond memory of mine from my childhood, but he'd never do it before. Well while I was getting the salt out of the cupboard, I felt it wobble a little and the next thing I knew the whole cabinet had fallen off the wall on me. Well I caught it and let it spill everything onto the counter and floor and then I lifted the cabinet onto the floor. It was really surprising and Jeremy just stood there looking at me like what in the world is going on in there!? Anyway I'm just glad it wasn't one of the other cabinets because they're all bigger and have heavier stuff like dishes in them and I wouldn't have been able to hold them. I called Daddy and he said that cabinet had been down when we looked at the house and they had to put it back up before we moved in. Apparently those former owners didn't do a very good job. Oh well, it lasted 7 1/2 years. I can't believe we've been here that long. I'm so tempted to just take the rest of the cabinets down and give the kitchen the makeover it sorely needs, but I don't want to spend the money! I guess we're lucky it's not urgent, except for that cabinet!

Easter Egg Hunt Birthday Party

So finally we had a birthday celebration for Jeremy. His birthday was only 2 months ago so that's not too bad, right? I've just been too sick and the weather this year a little too predictably rainy, which was great, to plan an outside party. So finally here comes the sun and we decided to combo his birthday with our annual cousin Easter egg hunt since it's almost that time. It was fun and the kids had a ball even without the big bouncer we usually get. Daddy likes the bouncer but I was happy not to have it with all the complaints it brings about bumps and playing too rough and all the stuff kids complain about. We started out with the Easter egg hunt and then we ate food and played two more games. First the egg and spoon race and then toss the eggs in the air with our cute sheepy sheet. I made his cupcakes in the shape of a 5 and he opened his fun presents, dinosaurs, books, walkie talkies, and games for his Leapster and the Playstation. So fun!

So overwhelmingly, most of you would prefer not to drink orange juice after brushing your teeth. I agree! Though I must say that drinking it with syruppy pancakes makes the juice a leetle sour. Be sure to vote on my new poll! BTW, I'm totally kidding about these names, but we have no idea what to name a boy so it better be a girl!

Code Names

So I've been thinking about changing my blog and just using everyone's real names. When I first started blogging, the only blogs I read all had code names, but now I read all these blogs where everybody just goes by their own names, and that's kind of fun. So leave me a comment and let me know how you feel on the whole code name/real name debate.

So Big!

So yesterday one of my young women told me how big I was and how huge I was going to be at the end, and I thought really? What does she know, she's never been pregnant, and I told her I was short and since she was short too she'd be huge pregnant someday. Then a little later a group of us women were standing talking and they said that I looked big too, and I thought really? So now I'm really curious as to how huge I'm going to be. I really don't care how big I get because this is it, my last pregnancy adventure and I just keep thinking I never have to do this again. And that gets me through sometimes. Last night we were at Daddy's parents' house and I was wearing my safety maternity pants that never make me sick because they're HUGE and they were too tight and I had to roll them down too. And my bra has been making me nauseated so I had to take that off and Daddy put it in his pocket for me. I'm telling you, the nudist colonies were made for pregnant women. I've decided. Just Kidding, but clothes are really my enemy. Except for my friend bathrobe of course, gotta love that.
