Ballerina Birthday Bash!!

Kelsey turned 3, and I decided it was time for a totally girly, outrageously cute, fabulous fun PARTY!!!

She loves to dance so we had a Ballerina Birthday Bash!

Scrapgirls had just what I was looking for to make this

perfectly polkadotty invite!

I'd been wanting to make this totally fantastic balloon wreath from How Does She forever, and this was the perfect occasion!

 I added a little pennant bunting for fun! 

 I made rainbow tutus for all the little ballerinas.

We feasted on strawberry and donut hole kabobs...

 ...and strawberry shortcake!!

That fabulous tiered plate was made from plates and sundae glasses from the dollar store!! Such a steal, and so easy!!

 Capri-suns are always tastier under the table.

We settled down on the blanket for a ballerina book.

  They loved it!

 We danced around the green...

 ...twirled around...

 ...and skipped around the roses!

We played pin the tutu on Kelsey!

And sang to our favorite birthday ballerina!!

 It's all about the frosting.

 Birthday balloon favors for all the little ballerinas!

 And tied to the bottom, bracelets and a wand wrapped in chiffon!

She had lots of help opening presents!

We are so blessed to have friends and family to share the fun!!

 She had a ball at her ballerina birthday bash!!

And I had a ball creating it for her!

Dancing in the Rain!!

Yesterday morning we had the most delightful, unexpected rain! I was just saying that it had been so long since it had rained that the hills were turning brown. So sad. And then, RAIN!!!

Of course we had to go play in it.

We went to church after that and came out later to 89 degrees and miserable humidity, but our morning rain dance was worth it!!

The day after Kelsey turned 3, my Grandma turned 90!!!
I would have loved to have Kelsey born on Grandma's birthday, but Kelsey does what Kelsey wants. LOL
At least, she and Grandma share a middle name.

Since I am seriously terrible at remembering dates and how old people are, my sister Cherish, (who is FANTASTIC at remembering,) called me a few months ago to tell me it was time for a PARTY!!!

Between the 3 of us sisters, we planned a surprise shindig for my beloved Grandma.

I was in charge of the invitations,

Janice was in charge of the decorations,

and we split up the food!

It was totally worth all the hard work to watch my Grandma walk in the door of the church and be totally and completely SURPRISED!!!

Despite lots of people who were unable to come,
we had a GREAT turnout!!

It was so fun to see my Grandma with her friends, people who have known her longer than I have, and who told me they wouldn't miss it for the world!!

I may have indulged my inner supermodel.

Kelsey's 3rd Birthday

On the 7th of July Kelsey turned 3 years old!!!

We woke her up to the traditional donut cake!

She was all smiles and blew out her candles

1...

2...

3!!

Later in the day we took her to see the movie RIO and to the Macaroni Grill for some macaroni and cheese...

...and birthday cake with Happy Birthday sung in Italian.

4th of July!!

It has been over a month and I have been neglecting this poor blog!! I have been busy crafting and creating over at Polkadots on Parade and need to strike a better balance so I keep up with journaling our family's adventures! And believe me,

there have been adventures!!

This year I finally got my act together and made Kelsey this fabulous ruffle dress! I've had the fabric forever and I'm so excited I finished it! You can read about it and see more photos over at POP!

And I even got it done before church, so here are my two patriotic cuties!!

On the 4th I got a burst of cooking energy and we had our favorite neighbors over for a bbq. I made these blue swirl cupcakes...

And red, white and blue jello!! It did not photograph well,

but was SO yummy!!

We walked over to our bishop's house for a backyard view of the fireworks in the park and root beer floats! The kids immediately zoned in on the trampoline and were having crazy fun!

Kelsey was especially scary, as always, running close to the edge, but super cute with those bouncy ruffles!
