Pigtails and Massages

So we were in San Diego again and I had so much fun dresssing up my sister's baby and doing her hair in little pigtails. Girls are so much fun!

So here's the big news: I'm going back to school to be a massage therapist! I'm so excited and scared to death all at the same time. I have wanted to do it for so long and now my self-confidence level is spinning out of control in a downward spiral and I just am so scared. But I know that it will be good for me to try it out and see and have a career path to fall back on, because really you just never know. And it will work around my schedule so I can still be with the Superstar. Scary, scary, exciting!

Lobster Beach

So last week we had our friend from church with us all day and we had a really fun day at the beach! Unfortunately I forgot our sunblock and we turned into lobsters, okay, I turned into a lobster. Superstar and our friend are blessed with more sun-friendly skin than me. Anyway, I was trying to take pictures of them and I fell off the sandbar and into the water and got totally wet trying to save my camera. All the junior lifeguards were there and offered to save me, but I told them I was fine. Of course I was fully clothed which added to the fun and I forgot towels for all of us. Oh well! We had so much fun and we get to do it again tomorrow! Yaaaaaaaaaaaay!

Griffith Observatory

We went to the Griffith Observatory with the youth from church last week. I was so excited, because I'd been waiting for this activity for so long! I love the observatory and hadn't been there for like 15 years. They had remodeled and it was even more amazing, but there just wasn't enough time to see it all! Another leader and I got to see Jupiter and 3 of her moons through the big telescope. It was cool! Jupiter is 13 times the size of our earth, and it has 49 moons, which are all bigger than our moon except for one. Space is massive and so amazing! We don't like Jupiter though because we weigh so much on that planet. That was fun, you could weigh yourself on each planet. We were excited to see that Pluto was still displayed in the planetary alignment even though it's been denounced as a planet, poor thing. Here's me and Einstein. I had to have a picture with him since we share a birthday.

Hugging

So I was looking through my old mission book for a good faith quote for Young Women and I came across this little hugging thing that I decided must be shared.

Hugging is healthy: It helps our body's immune system, it keeps you healthier, it cures depression, it reduces stress, it induces sleep, it's invigorating, it's rejuvenating, it has no unpleasant side effects, and hugging is nothing less than a miracle drug.

So next time I come up to you with my arms wide open say thanks for the hug, how could I live without it!

Amish Friendship Bread

So my sister had the starter to make the Amish Friendship Bread. It's absolutely ridiculous. This bread, although tasty, takes 10 days to make. Too much I say, too much. I can't think of anything that takes that long to cook and is wonderful enough to justify that much time spent. Even brownies, the ultimate in chocolate joy for my mouth are done in under 1 hour. Now that's my kind of cookin'!

San Diego Superstar

Here we are in San Diego again visiting Mama's sister and her family. Superstar and his little cousin love each other!

Gas Man

So I have no picture for this story, thankfully, so you get to see my pretty mini mama roses. Anyway, last week I was doing laundry, and for those of you who don't know our house, you have to go out the door off our bedroom to get to the garage where the washer/dryer are. Also our backyard is so secluded with all the trees that I don't bother getting fully dressed to go outside. So I'm standing there in my underwear doing laundry, holding things up to the light outside to make sure they're clean and all of a sudden the gas man comes around the corner of the house. I screamed and screamed and screamed until I finally realized I was in my underwear and closed the garage door. Poor little man, he was scared too. I peeked out and apologized to him, and now I just laugh and laugh, but I was screaming so loud, it was funny! :)

OC Fair

The fair was so fun and so hot! I was so tired from Girls Camp, but Daddy and Superstar had waited for me to come home to go to the fair, so we went. Superstar was really cute feeding the piggies; he giggled when they nibbled his fingers. We always have to watch the Alaskan pig races. Way too much commentary, but so much fun to watch pigs race; I'm not sure why. Of course, my favorite part is the fair food. We got lemonade, corn on the cob, ice cream, popcorn, and funnel cake with strawberries and whipped cream! Super Yummy!

Girls Camp

So here we are at Girls Camp. It was so much fun! So much hugging, so much to do, so much hair to braid, you know I love that! I had so much fun getting to know the girls better and the other leaders too. It was so fun watching the girls accomplish goals and growing their testimonies. I just love those girls!
