Mira Mesa Chick-Fil-A First 100!

Last week we had another Chick-Fil-A adventure.

After I did the Laguna Niguel restaurant opening, I saw how family-friendly it was and I wanted to take my whole family! David got the day off work, and we stayed overnight with my sister and her family so we'd be closer in the morning.

We all got up at 5 that morning and went down to get in line. It was my niece's birthday and they were good sports to come that early so we'd have more chances to win!

David and I both won!! The kids were our guests and got wristbands too so they could get all the free food that day.

We set up camp with our tent, shade awning, table, and chairs.

We were ready!

We ended up next to another homeschool family with the nicest little girl who played with Jeremy all day.

We did a lot of jump-roping.

The play-doh was a great choice to bring!

It kept the kids occupied for hours!

We got to walk though the drive-thru for our meals. It was fun!

Chicken on a biscuit for breakfast. Mmmm...

My cute little cows! I made them some costumes for the occasion.
I appliqued some black cow spots on Jeremy's T-shirt and I made Kelsey a black and white tutu and fun cow clippies for her hair!

So fun!

Took a snooze.

All before lunch!

In the late afternoon, the DJ arrived, and Kelsey started dancing.

The kids both enjoyed the music. They were the first ones out for the dance party that lasted for about 5 hours!

We played the most fun game where we all held hands in a circle and had to pass the hula hoop.

Then we just played with them!

Of course Daddy had to get a shot of my behind.

Shortly after, Kelsey conked out and snuggled up with her cow blanket! I had so much fun sewing for this event, can you tell?

Here we are the next morning, tired and greasy, but winners!!!

We did it! We earned 104 free meal tickets!

Not bad for a free campout, with free food and entertainment!

I WON I WON I WON!!!

So last night we went to the Woodbury Chick-Fil-A in Irvine. My friend Kyla sent me a link to their store calendar because they were giving out free milkshakes, and she knows I'm a sucker for them. Well I looked at the calendar and noticed that they were doing a promotion where every 100th guest got 52 free meal tickets. I said what?!?! I was a little upset that people could just win that without having to camp overnight like Kyla and I did. So I told David and he said let's go! We met Kyla and her kiddos there for dinner and I asked the Chick-Fil-A ladies if we were close to the 100 guest mark. Well they had just given it away to a drive-thru customer! I was so disappointed! So we got our food and sat down and watched people come in and out. It was so slow!  I kept asking the ladies if we were getting closer but they weren't really supposed to tell me. Well we finally had to leave so David and Kyla told me to go order something just for one more chance. I went up and let as many people go in front of me as I could and then it was my turn to order. I ordered the cheapest thing on the menu, the small Ice Dream cone. She punched in my order, then looked at the screen. She looked sideways at her manager, and asked her something in Spanish. By this time I was trying hard not to hope, but getting very excited! The manager nodded. The cashier said to me, you've been waiting for this, haven't you? I said yes. She said well you did it, you won with an ice cream cone. I started screaming and jumping up and down!!! I couldn't believe it, it was so surreal! Jeremy came up and I hugged him and he didn't get it, he just wanted to know where his ice cream was. LOL Well they gave it to me for free and then got me my meal tickets, and we left, me calling people and screaming all the way home! Woo Hoo!!!!

Busy Fun

Speaking of Etsy, I just mailed out my first order this week!!

It was so exciting!

Daddy has had our car this week until he gets some oil for his car.

We walked to do our errands. It was an adventure.

Last week we went to Chick-fil-A to get our free Spicy Chicken Sandwiches. They were ay-yi-yi hot!!! So Daddy ate both of ours and I shared with the kids.

Jeremy passed his test in Kempo and was advanced to get his yellow belt! Go Jeremy!!!

My friend Cory is moving to Utah so we had a girls goodbye night.

At the end of our fun night we went to Walmart and had a super-size adventure!

I got these panties for Kelsey since she loves Minnie too.
She loved them!

She's used her potty a few times, but I haven't fully committed to it yet. Potty-training is one of those jobs as a parent that I would hire out if I could. Not my favorite.

Sunday night we had a family from Daddy's work over for a BBQ. We made the most delicious s'mores. Big and gooeylicious. Mmmm...I hope you've had some tasty fun adventures this week as well! Hope to see you at the boutique!

Chick-fil-A

Last week I had an adventure. I'd been waiting for this day for months, planning, scheming, and exciting myself into a nervous frenzy. I love Chick-fil-A. It is delicious! And wonderful. And a really great company. Every time they open a new store they give a year's worth of free meals to 100 lucky people, and I was determined to be one of them. I talked Kyla into going with me, she talked Holly into coming too, and we showed up at the restaurant in Laguna Niguel before 6 AM. The line was already long, and we knew that our chances were slim, but still possible. In the event that more than 100 people are in line, they raffle off the 100 spots. We waited anxiously for our numbers to be called. One by one the excited people were chosen, and the crowd dwindled. I was trying to remain positive, but I couldn't help resenting those people that were chosen. Then Kyla's number was picked. Oh my gosh!!!

#81.

Holly and I waited, nervous bundles of energy, and then the last number was called. We hadn't made it. I couldn't believe it. I was so prepared. You have to camp out at the restaurant for 24 hours and I was all packed and ready. David had taken the day off work to watch the kids. My disappointment was deep and bitter. Holly and I got ready to leave. Then Kyla called. She didn't want to wait alone. She offered half of her free meal tickets if one of us would stay with her. I wanted to so badly, but I wanted to make sure that Holly didn't want it. She said she didn't care and didn't want to stay. I was so excited!!!! This was the next best thing to being chosen myself!!!

She was #81 and I was her 81G.

We unpacked our stuff from our cars, set up the tent and settled in for the duration of our adventure.
It turned out to be so much fun!!

It was a gorgeous day!

Kyla and I just sat and gabbed all day long and got sunburned.

The Chick-fil-A people fed us breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We had an ice cream party that night. They played games. We enjoyed watching all the crazy people that were there. Some of them were veterans, having done this several times, traveling around to all the restaurant openings. The people next to us had a ping pong table set up there in the parking lot. Another group had a generator and decorations.

This guy had tubes of chapstick stuck through his earlobes. Amazing.

In the morning they woke us up at 5:15 to use the potty for the last time and then awarded the lucky 100 with their prize, 52 free meal tickets! The CEO of Chick-fil-A was there all the way from Georgia, playing the bugle in his Chick-fil-A pajamas.
